William Turner 1920 – 2013. Born in Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester, William Ralph Turner was best known for his depictions of industrial northern landscapes and was raised surrounded by a prestigous group of artists including LS Lowry, Harold Riley and Theodore Major.
For over fifty years, William Turner continued to paint the mills and landscapes of the industrial north, applying his own style and recognisable colour palette on to his subject. Since his death in 2013, demand for William Turners paintings has continued to increase along with the price of his paintings. His works are collected internationally with collectors including Sir Peter Ustinov and Lord Sebastien Coe.
